Petrified Island

On a volcanic island, a tribe worships and lives under the benevolent goddess Pelé. However, she is furious. Something is angering Pelé like never before! 

You play as Pelé’s chosen Jaguar Sentinel, Koh-Ah, and it is your job as the protector of the island to find out what is bothering you goddess. But be wary! You and your tribe are not the only inhabitants of the island anymore. Raging golems have been sighted on the path to Pelé. 

Use your powers of shapeshifting to switch between human and jaguar form. Traverse the island, climb the ledges, solve the puzzles and break the golems! 

Petrified Island is a single player adventure game that was made during a 7 week project by 3 artists, 4 game designers, and 2 programmers. The theme of this project was “natural phenomena”, and our group chose to go with the druidic approach of nature worship and shapeshifting.

 Some inspirations for the game: Uncharted, Ratchet & Clank, Elden Ring, Stray, and Zelda: Twilight Princess.

 Play in the human form and use the Staff of the Jaguar Spirit to fight or paw-sibly the claws of the jaguar form. Whichever form you prefer, help Pelé before it’s too late!
